Foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan prepare for RECCA VII

During the session of the Government on October 19, the Vice-premier, Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported on preparation to the 7th Conference of Regional Economic Cooperation for Afghanistan (RECCA VII) in Ashgabat on November 14 – 15. 

It was highlighted that development of friendship and fruitful cooperation with neighbouring countries including the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is one of priority vectors of foreign course of neutral Turkmenistan. 

At present time, foreign ministry of both neighbouring states carry out joint work for preparation to the above-mentioned conference. The MFA of our country established special coordination commission for successful solution of organizational and other issues. It is expected that representatives of number of foreign countries and international organizations including the UN specialized agencies will, participate in the forum. 

The draft of the agenda of the conference has been elaborated. It is proposed to define the development of relations and expansion of economic relations as the main subject of the conference. Discussion and exchange of the opinions on the matters related with such directions as realization of energy, transport and communication projects with participation of Afghanistan, trade, development of private sector and establishment of business cooperation will be held during two-day meeting. 

In this context, the Head of the State noted that while standing for regulation of the situation in a Afghanistan exclusively by peaceful, political and diplomatic measures, Turkmenistan renders actual support in social, economic and cultural revival on neighbouring country. 

Having emphasized that our country would continue rendering comprehensive support and assistance to Afghanistan promoting further activation of international efforts in this direction, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov requested the Vice Premier, Head of the MFA to provide high organizational level of coming RECCA VII Conference and timely solution of all relative issues.
