Turkmen Delegation Pays Working Visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

From 7 to 13 September 2026, a delegation headed by Y. Hojagulyyev, Chairman of the religious organisation “Arkadagyň Ruhy metjidi” and Chief Imam, paid a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As part of the visit, meetings were held in Madinah with the Director of the Prophet’s Mosque and its affiliated institute, the Chief Imams of the Prophet’s Mosque, and the President of the Islamic University of Madinah. Meetings were also held with the Director General of Al-Haram Institute in Makkah, the Executive Director responsible for the administration of the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, the Head of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in the Makkah Region, the President of Umm Al-Qura University, and the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League.

The delegation also visited a number of libraries, museums and mosques.

During the meetings, the Turkmen delegation familiarised itself with the extensive experience of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the organisation and operation of Islamic educational centres. The curriculum of the higher educational institution for Islamic studies currently under construction in Turkmenistan adjacent to the “Arkadagyň Ruhy Metjidi” was also presented, followed by an exchange of views on its content.

The parties also discussed prospective areas of cooperation in the training of specialists in Islamic studies.
