Alexey Miller confirms the interest of Gazprom incooperation with Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Board Chairman of the PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller. 

Having expressed sincere gratitude to the Head of the State for spared time, the guest confirmed the interest of Russian holding in cooperation with our country and implementation of beneficial joint projects. 

Having highlighted that Turkmenistan is always open for efficient business contacts with foreign partners, especially with leading world companies, the President noted traditional friendly character of Turkmen – Russian cooperation with fuel and energy sphere as one of the topical directions. 

Continuing the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest exchanged the visions on priority directions of partnership taking into account the strategy in fuel and energy complex aimed at comprehensive modernization and diversification of profile infrastructure, increment of production and processing output, development of petrochemical industry and making of competitive production, which is on high demand in the world market. 

In this context, the resumption of procurement of Turkmen gas by the Gazprom has been discussed. Existing Intergovernmental Agreement between Turkmenistan and Russian Federation on Cooperation in gas sphere until 2028, based on which the sides carry out relative work, is the main document in this case. 

Gas production and processing and opportunity to supply of gas by the main pipeline Central Asia – Centre were the subject of interested discussion. It has been highlighted that significant experience of cooperation, which undoubtedly would be required in the nearest future, has been gained for many years of cooperation. 

It was also mentioned that large-scale reforming programmes in our country provide wide prospects for improvement of business relations and more dynamic character to such relations. 

In the end of the meeting, the Head of the State and his guest confirmed the willingness of Turkmenistan and the PJSC Gazprom to continue developing beneficial partnership.
