President of Turkmenistan and Ambassador of Kazakhstan discuss priorities of the interstate partnership

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Yerkebulan Sapiyev, who presented credentials to the Turkmen leader.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the diplomat conveyed the cordial greetings to the President of Turkmenistan from President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the first Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Emphasizing that it is a great honour for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, the Ambassador noted that the two states had bounded with the ties of friendship and brotherhood.

Taking this opportunity, Yerkebulan Sapiyev congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the 28th anniversary of independence of our country, wishing him happiness and prosperity, and wellbeing to the people of the country.

Addressing warm greetings to the leaders of Kazakhstan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the responsible post and wished him success in his work.

The exchange of views on the prospects of interstate relations took place during the meeting. At the same time, it was emphasized that our countries stood as important strategic partners that is vividly proved by the solid regulatory framework of bilateral relations, as well as the active work of the joint Intergovernmental Commission.

Among the promising areas of partnership, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan identified the trade and economic sphere, the transport and communications sector, energy, etc.

The President of Turkmenistan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan focused on the environmental issues - one of the relevant vectors of interstate cooperation.

Yerkebulan Sapiyev underlined the constructiveness of the initiatives, put forward by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the aim to ensure global peace, security and wellbeing.

Speaking about the importance of the Resolution “2021 is the International Year of Peace and Confidence” adopted by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan, the Ambassador emphasized that this document testified that the international community recognized the efficiency of the foreign policy strategy, pursued by the President of Turkmenistan.

Thanking the Government of Kazakhstan for supporting the initiatives, put forward by Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the two states had similar approaches towards the key issues of the regional and global agenda.

Humanitarian sphere was specified as one of the important vectors of partnership. In this regard, the Turkmen leader and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan called for expanding cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere, in the field of healthcare, culture, sports and tourism, emphasizing the importance of organizing joint creative events and implementing various projects. The discussion also focused on strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.

In conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Yerkebulan Sapiyev assured President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that he would contribute to developing the interstate dialogue.
