Ak Hünji Puts New Business Ideas Into Practice

Private firm Ak Hünji has started production of plastic sheets from locally-produced polypropylene. Pilot batches were made using new extrusion machines. Raw materials are supplied from a gas chemical complex manufacturing polymers in the Balkan region.

According to director general Bekmamed Charyev, polypropylene sheets have a wide range of applications. They are an ideal material for swimming pools, ventilation systems, laboratory equipment, food containers, and cladding. The sheets have excellent acid and chemical resistance which helps in the production of acid storage and transportation tanks. Following the commissioning period, the enterprise will have a daily output of up to 2,000 tons of polypropylene sheets.

Ak Hünji is well known as the country’s largest manufacturer of finishing materials. Set up in 2009, the private enterprise specializes in patterned finishes and sandwich panels and now has an extensive product range which includes 200-plus architectural elements.

This April, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development granted the firm a loan of US $1.8 million. The business project envisages the construction of a new production unit and purchase of fully automatic polystyrene extrusion machines and lines from Italy. The state-of-the-art technologies will enable to annually produce 1,200 linear meters of new-generation finishing materials. The private enterprise has plans to export its products to neighboring countries.
