President of Korea Moon Jae-in congratulates Turkmen leader on V Asian Games

President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in has sent the head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov a congratulatory letter on the occasion of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat. Having noted that 100 athletes from his country are participating in 7 sports at the Games, the South Korean leader expressed confidence that all the athletes will be competing in the spirit of fair play across 10 days and that the Games will end successfully. 

The letter also says that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Turkmenistan. Complementarity between the two countries’ industry stimulates the development of economic cooperation in the gas chemical industry and construction of necessary facilities. 

“Thanks to your concern and support, our partnership has been given considerable impetus, and in this context, I would like to mention Your visit to the under-construction gas chemical complex in Kiyanly and Your high praise of Korean companies’ potential. I hope that they will be able to use the potential to participate in the construction of new large complexes in Turkmenistan, while promoting closer business relations between the two countries. 

Highly appraising potentialities of Eurasian countries, in particular of Turkmenistan for cooperation in resource development, transport, creation of logistics infrastructure, and other areas, I am going to strengthen our cooperation during my term in office through increased trade and investment activity, diversification of economic partnership. I hope that a specially established Committee will contribute to expanding relations between Korea and Turkmenistan as well as with the Eurasian region,” Moon Jae-in stressed.
