The President of Turkmenistan meets with his Kazakhstan colleague

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev who arrived in Turkmen capital for participation in the session of the Council of the CIS Heads of the States.

Having warmly greeted each other, the leaders of friendly states expressed satisfaction to discuss perspective of bilateral partnership in private conversation including cooperation under competent international organizations as well as to exchange the visions of number of current subjects of regional and international politics.

During the meeting, the Presidents of two countries have highly appreciated the dynamics of development of interstate dialog, which is based on historical, cultural and spiritual proximity of Turkmen and Kazakh nations.

The sides exchanged the views on wide spectrum of Turkmen – Kazakh cooperation, having focused on implementation of number of interstate economic projects as well as discussed perspectives of intensification of partnership in such strategic directions as energy and transport sphere.

Having stated similarity of positions in many international issues, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted importance of activation of cooperation in provision of global energy security, combating against transnational terrorism and in solution of global ecological problems.

Mutual interest in expansion of dialog in humanitarian sphere has also been noted.

In the end of the meeting, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed wishes of happiness, peace and prosperity to the nations of both countries.
