THE ISSUES OF CREATING A LOGISTICS CENTER IN TURKMENISTAN ARE DISCUSSED IN ASTRAKHAN

On March 4, the Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan (the Russian Federation) Guych Garayev held a meeting with Director General of PJSC "Special Economic Zone "LOTUS" Sergey Milushkin. The parties discussed the aspects of opening a logistics center of Turkmenistan on the territory of the port special economic zone (PSEZ) in the Astrakhan region.
Exchanging views, the sides expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation in the Caspian Sea region. Discussing the issue of creating a logistics center of Turkmenistan on the territory of PSEZ, it was emphasized that the special economic zone was considered as a platform for optimizing flows of commodity and increasing competitiveness, as well as investment activity, creating favorable economic instruments for the activities of forwarding and transport companies.
Sergey Milushkin supported Turkmenistan’s initiative, aimed at diversifying economic cooperation in the Caspian Sea region and the Turkmen-Russian dialogue in general, expressing willingness to provide every assistance.
The parties are planning to organize an online meeting of the relevant structures of Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation for a detailed discussion of partnership issues in this area in the near future.
