Briefing on the International Day of Neutrality was conducted in Riyadh

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia conducted a briefing dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality, which will be celebrated on December 12 starting this year, due to the initiative of Turkmenistan. 

Representatives of several Saudi public organizations and companies, the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens and the Turkmen Diaspora in Saudi Arabia, the intellectuals and the media, attended the event. Among the guests of honor are members of the King Faisal Research Center for Islamic Studies, as well as the Center for Research and International Knowledge. 

As noted during the briefing, the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the establishment of the International Neutrality Day was supported by the world community, and the 71st session of the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the Resolution on the proclamation of December 12 as the International Day of Neutrality. Support of the Turkmen initiative was a recognition of our country's enormous contribution to global peace, security and sustainable development. 

The unique international legal status of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality recognized and supported by the international community. It became the foundation of its peace-loving foreign policy and innovative transformation strategy allowed to ensure social and economic progress and democratic reforms, implementation of large regional transport and energy projects, to establish Turkmenistan as a peacekeeping center and countries that initiated the creation of a multi-format model of political integration for the solution of the global problems and challenges. 

During the meeting was emphasized that the upcoming celebration of the landmark day in the country's history will be widely and solemnly conducted not only in Turkmenistan, but also far beyond its borders. The festive sadaka was given at the end of the briefing.
